This was a restoration project we did with Josh Grove from Protocaster Guitars. This was a late70’s Artisan that was renecked in the 80’s by Tommy Doyle with a one piece non volute mahogany neck and the original fretboard. It had some added electronics and a aftermarket brass bridge and was that weird walnut color. We decided it would look really cool as a 59nBlack Beauty with all the artisan inlay. Josh did an amazing job and it looks like a black beauty if they were made in the late 30’s. We wired it with one of the tone pots controlling the middle pickup and the rest like a regular Les Paul so you can get all the possible positions and blend the middle pickup in for some really cool tonal possibilities.
